Why the recovery week does not happen at home
The week after joint or spine surgery is when complications appear if they are going to. At home, that week is spent negotiating stairs, meals and responsibilities. Here it is spent in one room, with a physician visiting six days a week to check the wound, change dressings and watch how you are healing.
That is the medical argument for staying. The practical one is simpler: you should not be on a long-haul flight in the first days after an operation, and the hotel week is what makes the trip safe rather than merely cheaper.
Hotel Casa Blanca Internacional
A 4-star hotel in the centre of Mexico City, and the one included in every OSM package. There is no additional cost to stay here — the only charge that can arise is for nights beyond the seven your package covers.
Rooms are non-smoking and air-conditioned, with a private bathroom, television and unlimited Wi-Fi. Nutritious meals are prepared on site; a full meal — starter, fish or meat, dessert — costs about US$ 25.

If you would rather stay somewhere else
You can. Patients sometimes prefer a different hotel, a longer stay, or somewhere that suits a travelling companion better. That is not a problem — it simply falls outside the package, and the cost is yours.
What does not change is the medical follow-up. Wherever you stay in Mexico City, the physician visits and the transport to your consultations remain part of your package. Tell us your plans when you request your quote so the logistics are arranged around them.
Bringing a companion
A companion is welcome and stays in your room at no additional charge. Their flights and meals are their own, and it is worth saying plainly: for the first days after surgery, a companion is genuinely useful rather than merely reassuring.
